Grid MicroCircuits EC-2xxx multichannel cross-phase conductive medium communication modules from PCN Technology Inc., San Diego, CA, can be deployed in power distribution systems or other conductive media to communicate point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, or as a self-configuring mesh network. The devices are powered from a 3.3 or 5 VDC power supply, consume <1 W on average, and are designed with COTS microcontrollers and DSPs for use in OEM products and systems for alternative energy applications; meters, sensors, smart appliances and products; transportation systems and infrastructure; and industrial products, building automation, and control systems. Each module is IP-enabled and, with embedded interoperability software, can bridge private networks to open standard public networks.
